Step 1 - Check phone and passport

Your phone must be able to scan a chip. Make sure that your phone is updated.

This guide is for Danish, Greenlandic or Faroese passports. Therefore, the person you are helping must have this. Check that the expiry date of the passport has not been exceeded.

The passport must have this symbol on the front. This means that there is a hidden chip in the passport and that the chip can be read by the MitID app - thus confirming the identity of the person you are helping to get MitID.

The symbol depicts a square with a ring in the center.
