Activate your MitID audio code reader

You can activate your MitID audio code reader in two ways:

  • Activate the audio code reader by scanning your passport/ID card in the MitID app
  • Activate the audio code reader with an activation code you receive at Citizen Service

You can activate your MitID audio code reader with your passport/ID card if you have:

  1. Download MitID from the App Store or Google Play, if you do not have it.
  2. Open the app. Access the menu at the top of the screen.
  3. Press Activate.
  4. Press Activate your MitID and then Next.
  5. Select Passport/ID card – and follow the steps in the MitID app.

You can get an activation code for your MitID audio code reader at Citizen Service. You must bring valid documentation to get an activation code. Remember to book an appointment at Citizen Service, before you show.

How to use the MitID audio code reader

When you want to use your MitID audio code reader to approve with MitID, you first have to enter your user ID and a 6-digit one-time password code from the audio code reader. You get the one-time password code by pressing the red button on your MitID audio code reader. Finally, you have to enter your password. You have now approved with MitID.
